Masterson’s Lounge, located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , brands itself as a fashionable, contemporary hangout, but my latest trip at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may look welcoming at first glance , what I encountered behind its doors was appalling and beyond comprehension .

From the moment I walked in , it was immediately obvious that upkeep was not a priority at this venue. The ground was covered in grime , and a pungent odor of uncleaned spills and neglected washrooms suffused the entire pub. Emitting a scent of a mixture of excrement , a rotting odor and a sickly smell. The serving zone , which should be the primary feature of any pub, was piled high with used mugs and debris that looked like it hadn’t been touched in ages . The lavatory was in even worse condition — backed up, with a snapped lever and walls covered in what I can only assume was human excrement .
